Damn Dell Computers

Follow these instructions if you have dual ATI graphics cards in a CrossFireXTM configuration installed in your system

Note: Apparently, the way Dell got CrossFireX to work with the 630i's Nvidia motherboard is as follows:

  1. They custom-flash the BIOS of all ATI graphics cards they supply.
  2. They include one or more "hook" file(s) with their version of the ATI display driver package that remains even after you uninstall the Dellified drivers.

So in order to get CrossFireX to work correctly, you may need to perform the following steps--restarting your system after each step--in the order listed below:

  1. Uninstall ATI's display drivers.
  2. Install Dell's version of the display drivers.
  3. Uninstall Dell's version of the display drivers.
  4. Reinstall ATI's display drivers.

A royal pain, but there it is. This also means you will be unable to upgrade to ATI cards that Dell does not supply (and of course you'd have to obtain them directly from Dell), as they simply won't work in CrossFireX no matter what you do.

Why the fuck did I buy this Dell PC? FUCK FUCK FUCK !!!

Because you were too lazy to build one yourself?

I definitely took the easy way out. Wasn't even lazy to build, I just like everything being under one warranty from Dell. But they won't take it back if you say it randomly crashes and is just a piece of shit. Something has to be broken. Maybe I should break the motherboard.
